Escape into the sanctuary of the hive and reconnect with nature, community, and the wisdom of the bees. During this 3 day retreat you will have the opportunity to weave your very own skep hive, a regenerative hive style that originated in early medieval europe.

Step away from the noise of daily life and immerse yourself in the sacred world of the bees. Over three days, you'll weave a home for bees by hand, guided by history and by touch.

You'll learn the history of skep beekeeping and how to steward bees in this ancient hive style today. We'll move through the full process, from harvesting and preparing grass to finishing your hive with cloam. By the end, you'll leave with a completed skep of your own.

RETREAT SPACE

Throughout our time together, we'll invite in practices that help us reconnect with our embodied wisdom. We'll open with a conscious technology detox to quiet the noise. Movement will ease the stillness of long weaving hours. Ancestral folk rounds will sing us back into rhythm. And a bee inspired fragrance blend will ground us in scent.

Slow, tactile, and deeply analog, this is a space to work with your hands and return to yourself.

Nestled within earthen walls shaped from the very soil beneath our feet, the straw bale home offers a deeply grounding and nourishing sanctuary for our retreat.

Just beyond its doors, a flourishing 1-acre garden overflows with fruit trees, berries, and an abundance of vibrant flora, creating a rich oasis for pollinators. At its heart, four thriving beehives, each designed with regenerative principles, hum with life, embodying the sacred connection between land, bees, and those who gather here to learn, heal, and reconnect with the rhythms of the natural world.

ONYX BAIRD

Onyx is a regenerative beekeeper dedicated to exploring the intersection of science, spirituality, and environmental conservation. She has a MS in Fisheries + Wildlife from Michigan State University, and has traveled the globe to study with some of the world’s leading experts in sacred beekeeping and conservation. Through merging scientific knowledge with spiritual wisdom, Onyx has pioneered a radical approach to beekeeping that prioritizes the honeybee’s highest well-being.

OLIVIA ASHTON

Olivia Ashton is a technology guide and meditation teacher based in Portland, Oregon. She has dedicated the past five years to exploring, researching and developing UNDIVIDED; an online course and curriculum that supports folks in healing cycles of phone addiction, reclaiming their attention, and creating a more conscious relationship with their smart phones + devices.

Deeply informed by her decade long meditation practice, work with addiction, devotion to presence, nature and love, Olivia teaches from a place of embodied wisdom, compassion and curiosity. Her teachings help people take back hours of their day from mindless scrolling, strengthen their tech boundaries, create phone habits that support their focus and creativity, and so much more.

Olivia is deeply committed to supporting the community in creating a conscious way forward with technology, together.
